Introduction

This is my ePortfolio, it includes work from math, la, ss and science. In math we did work like blogs and videos. In la(language arts) we did work like friendly letters and chapter responses. In ss(social studies) we did work like definition cards and work booklets. In science we did work like a power points and 3 point approaches.
2 things I am good at are reading and summarizing what I just read, and being able to understand what I am studying.
2 things I need to improve on are the quality of my work and not doing work last minute.
My goals are for the 6 weeks of school are: to study more to get a perfect mark on m test, and to add a lot of quality to my work.

Term 1 Reflection

Term 1 Reflection

Term 1 was a good term. I think I did good on the quizzes and on the tests. The marks on my report card are probably low because of the blog. In term one we learned about ratios, rates, and proportional reasoning. We also learned about the Pythagorean Theory and squaring and square rooting. The tests and quizzes were a bit easy, most of my errors were from not showing all of my work. In the blog I made a math profile and put the video project about rate, ratios, and proportional reasoning. I think if I had done more scribe posts and commented on all the scribes I would have got a better , so in term 2 I will try to do more, and I’ll try to comment on all of the scribes.

Proportion, Ratio and

Pythagoras

I did not do a scribe for this topic.

Term 2 Reflection

In Term 2 I did good. I got an 87. I did really good in tests and quizzes.
I found it easy to find surface area, volume of triangular prisms,
cylinders and rectangular prisms, and percent.
I struggled on doing blogs posts and commenting. Even though I did better
than last term, I still have a lot to do in term 3. This term I didn’t
comment at all and had few blog post.
Next term(same as last term) I will try to comment on all blogs that I have
to comment on and I will sign up for more blog posts.
This term I learned about surface area. Surface area is the sum of all faces
of an object. For example: to find the surface area of a rectangular
prism. Do L x W to one side, then multiply it by 2, and then do that to
each side that’s different. Volume is the space on object occupies. For
example: to find the volume of a rectangular prism, to the formula
L x W x H. Percent means out of 100. For example: to find the percent from
a decimal multiply by 100, so 0.64 x 100 = 64%.
There is a difference between volume and surface area. Surface area would be
measuring the outside area of the object, while volume measures the
inside area of an object. Both are similar because they’re both
measuring an object.

Subject: Social Studies
Cro-Magnon Poster
TASK: What was I asked to do for this assignment?
I was required to create a poster outlining the Social Organization, home food and tools used by the Cro-Magnon people.

INTENT: Why am I completing this assignment?
There are several reasons why I completed this assignment. First, this assignment helped me comprehend visually how the Cro-Magnons lived. Also this assignment helped me to create a visual organizer which is one way of representing your idea. Finally this assignment helped me to prepare for the unit test by serving as a study guide of Cro-Magnon daily life.

CRITERIA: How do I know what I needed to do to be successful in completing this assignment?
- create a visual organizer to show specific details/aspects of Cro-Magnon daily life(home, social organization, food, tools)
- each section of poster needed heading
- follow rubric given to complete task(title, neatly done images/colouring

NEXT STEPS:
- I can now create a visual organizer showing important details for specific topics
- I now have another study tool I can use to help me prepare for a test
- I can help create rubrics/criteria for how to complete an assignment and I can follow them to complete an assignment successfully.

Subject: Social Studies Mesopotamian Definition Card
TASK: What was I asked to do for this assignment?
I was required to make a definition card using a term from the stared words in the Mesopotamia book, and also draw it.

INTENT: Why am I completing this assignment?I am completing this assignment
There are several reasons why I am completing this assignment. First this assignment helped me learned about the word stylus a lot more. Also it helped me visualize better about what a stylus is and how it's used. Finally this helped me study for the unit test.

CRITERIA: How do I know what I needed to do to be successful in completing this assignment?
- Have the correct definition term- Have a drawing of your term(with detail)
- Have a border that has something to do with topic

NEXT STEPS:
- I can now visualize better about different terms
- I now have another study tool

Simile Definition Card

Errol8162.JPG

Subject: LA Simile Definition Card
TASK: What was I asked to do for this assignment?
I was asked to make a definition card for the word simile, I needed to have the definition of simile, an example and a picture.

INTENT: Why am I completing this assignment?
There are several reasons why I completed this assignment. First, this assignment helped me understand what a simile is. Also this assignment helped me be more descriptive of what I am writing, and also help me compare things a lot better by using similes. Finally this helped me visualize what I am reading.

CRITERIA: How do I know what I needed to do to be successful in completing this assignment?
- make a definition card using the word simile
- have an example of a simile
- have a picture of the simile
- have a border related to the topic

NEXT STEPS:
- I can now understand what a simile is
- I can now think of similar things a lot faster
- I can now visualize what I am reading a lot better
- I can now compare things a lot better
- I can be more descriptive of what I am writing, by using a simile I can compare things that could create a visual in whoever is reading what I wrote
